One World One Heart event

Hello and Welcome!

First a little history lesson:

In 2007 Lisa Swifka came up with a wonderful idea to  link bloggers around the world to encourage them to visit blogs they might not normally come across and in the process possibly forge international friendships.  An incentive to visit the blogs was the possibility to win a prize or even several. By the simple means of leaving a comment each time you visit a participating OWOH blog (One World One Heart) your name will be entered into a draw that will entitle you to win something. That something could be a piece of handmade art, a poem, a book, a CD, etc. etc. The rules are carefully explained in Lisa’s introductory post. Please note that you should be a blogger to be eligible to win a giveaway – this is after all an event aimed at bloggers around the world. Each participant must be willing to mail (at their own expense) the giveaway to anywhere in the world. You may not win an actual prize at all but you will discover many wonderful blogs to surprise and delight you. At the time of writing this almost 700 people are participating.

I am participating in this event too and my giveaway will be a souvenir from Cambodia where I am going for a short trip at the beginning of February.

In keeping with this year’s magic carpet theme, if you click on the category “Faraway travels” you can see some of the photos I’ve taken in some of the exotic places I have been lucky enough to have visited. You have to click anywhere on the banner at the top of the page to go to my home page where the categories are listed.

Comments must be made before 15 February to be eligible for the draw. Either include your blog’s URL or your e-mail address in coded format eg. myname at yagoogle dot com so that I can contact you if you win.

On February 15th the winner will be randomly picked (with a random number generator) and announced on this blog. I will email the winner and he/she will have 48 hours to respond with their postal address information. After 48 hours an alternate winner will be chosen.
