Mayday walk

It was sunny again this afternoon so I went for a walk, firstly in Yalikavak where I found this colourful garden.

Then I drove up into the hills to the abandoned village of Sandima which provided lots of great shots with masses of flowers.

On my way back I spotted an orchard full of poppies. I wanted to take some close-up shots of the poppies and I tried to find a way in (I didn’t want to climb over the wall or the padlocked gate), even walking along the dried up stream bed surrounding the orchard, but to no avail.

I am constantly amazed by the huge variety of wild flowers here

I took a road less travelled up on to the top of the hill and found this view on the other side.

This winter has been very wet and Spring a long time coming. It is only just beginning to warm up in the day time and the nights are still very cold, especially when it’s windy.
