Travel theme: fresh

as the car toiled up towards the summit of Mont Ventoux (Provence) in mid April not only where we struck by the amount of snow still on the ground (we were later to find the road higher up rendered impassable by the snow) but an extraordinarily strong smell of lavender wafted over these frozen lavender fields
