Travel theme: trees

cashew nut tree. The ‘fruit’ part under the nut is poisonous so they have to be picked by hand. No wonder cashew nuts are so expensive!

did you know star fruit grow on trees?

“Trees are my temples and forests are my cathedrals” Mikhail Gorbachev

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

TT-free and easy-conversation between trees

Kim’s challenge for 15 May is another free and easy edition – any theme, any texture. I was in the UK recently and photographed these trees on the top of Exmoor. I like to think that they were engaged in a lively conversation and that the one on the right is gesticulating wildly

I’ve used Kim’s wonderful magic scripted texture at 100%

I can’t decide which version I like best – framed or unframed. Any views?

Festival of trees

Inspired by Jasmine’s recent Festival of trees post, I decided to make a slideshow of some of the trees I saw on a recent walk, one sunny day in springtime Luxembourg. Although it started out being a festival of trees it morphed into a festival of spring. Enjoy!
